Ralph Provisero: For Old Times' Sake

April 5, 2012 - May 5, 2012

Opening reception April 5, 2012, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Dorsch Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Ralph Provisero, For Old Times' Sake.

The show will feature a large-scale kinetic sculpture called Spring Rider, communicating a reminiscence regarding typically joyful childhood objects. Provisero repurposed a found fiberglass child's car from a bygone era. By painting it black, Provisero unifies the form while the cracks and dents from years of use and exposure tell a deeper backstory. "I didn't play on playgrounds, I usually walked around them," said Provisero, cutting short the assumption that these forms carry with them the joy of childhood.
