Brian Reedy: Eleventh Hour
March 11, 2006 - April 1, 2006
Opening reception March 11, 2006, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Brian Reedy's latest drawings, paintings and woodcuts take a whimsical look at possible future events and the potential fall of modern civilization. Social satire, violent behavior and the opposing factions of nature and technology are themes that are explored and illustrated in this body of work. The graphic nature of the subject matter is echoed by the graphic quality of the media that Reedy works with - woodcut, stark line drawings and painted wood panels. More parody than parable, these images offer a hazy form of storytelling that is influenced greatly by science fiction, fantasy and illustration.
